The culinary offerings at Casa Don Alfonso tell the story of traditions passed down for generations in the family homes of southern Italy. These recipes come from a magical place, ripe with the culture and beauty of the Mediterranean. Alongside an unmistakable commitment to hospitality and service, Casa Don Alfonso brings hand-crafted flavors and carefully chosen ingredients with every bite. Renown Italian restaurateur Mario Iaccarino is proud to invite guests and their loved ones to share and create memories, while experiencing the tastes of the Sorrento Coast.
A family with four generations in the hospitality industry, the Iaccarinos opened Don Alfonso 1890 in the heart of Sant’ Agata, Italy, creating what is today an internationally recognized two Michelin star restaurant with iterations all over the world. Mario now brings all of the best of his family’s flagship to a more casual setting in St. Louis with the relaxed atmosphere and charm of Casa Don Alfonso. His vision, inspired by the hills, waters, tastes, colors and philosophy of Italy, is found in every aspect of the food, drink, ambiance, and service. Chef de cuisine Sergio Chierego honors the culinary heritage of the Campania region, with seasonal ingredients that closely resemble the sun-kissed produce harvested at the Iaccarino family’s farm.
Fresh, handmade pastas create an edible narrative of the Iaccarino legacy, while whimsical desserts transport guests to Naples’ nostalgic bakeries. Casa Don Alfonso also has its very own Pizzaiolo, crafting a variety of Neapolitan pizzas from organic sourdough. General Manager Alen Tanovic has created an impeccable signature cocktail menu, highlighting traditional Italian elixirs with playful twists. Our extensive 3000-bottle list has been carefully curated, including a selection of wines by the glass that are exclusively Italian.
Whether you’re planning to enjoy a full meal, or just stopping in for an afternoon espresso, we’re excited to welcome you at Casa Don Alfonso. Let us transport you from St. Louis all the way to the Sorrento Coast.
